JOURNEYING ON

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;

my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.

Psalm 63: 1-2

HOW HAS YOUR PILGRIMAGE BEEN SIGNIFICANT FOR YOU?

Once an experience such as a pilgrimage is over it's easy to think: "Well done me! I've achieved my goal, now it's back to normal!" The hard gained insights can be lost as the blisters heal and the daily chores and worries resume.

If the aims of your walk included reflection on questions of meaning and purpose and personal transformation, then reflecting on the experience and making changes in your life is the next step. If you kept a journal during the walk you could reflect on that. You may also find it helpful to use the process below, which is drawn from the teaching of St Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits. Try the reflection in the link below from the Pray as You Go website and ask yourself:

What has been precious about this pilgrimage?

What has been important about the experience?

What have you learned about yourself?
